My name is Judy and I live in Houston, Texas. I have 2 wonderful grown children and 6 of the cutest and smartest grandchildren ever born! It is my 3 year old granddaughter Mary that gave me the name “Jammaw”. At 18 months she just couldn’t quite manage “Grandma”, so “Jammaw” it was. It was one of those “Ah -Hah” moments for the rest of us. Given the fact that I have been known to pump up the volume while I’m jammin to my music, it just seemed to fit. So now you know why my website is named JammawRides.com.

I am originally from Cloverdale, Indiana. Never heard of it? Well unless you frequent small towns with only 1 stop light, not much to talk about. I have lived in Missouri, Germany, San Antonio, Dallas and Los Angeles. It was my last job that brought me to Houston or should I say it was my boss who said move to Houston or find another job. So just to irritate him, I moved to Houston. That was in 2000 and now in 2008 at 53 I find myself forced to start over yet again. This time I’m older, not sure about wiser but I do know that life is short and it’s time to re-gain some quality of life.

I have spent the last 30 years working in the healthcare arena and most recently as a Reimbursement Director for a large practice management company based here in Houston. I have to say that it feels nice to just sit for a minute and not be rushing to catch a flight. I’m hoping to do project work and conduct Revenue Cycle and Compliance audits for physician practices.

I have a passion for motorcycles. I currently own a 2005 Honda Goldwing.. It is my sanity. I love to get up early Sunday mornings and just ride. I’m hoping to ride to Key West in 2009. I ride alone for the most part and hope to be riding when I’m 80! I got my first dirt bike when I was ten and have been riding and owning bikes off and on ever since.

It is my hope that by sharing my experiences and love of riding that I can encourage other women my age to take off their heels, put on a pair of motorcycle boots and go for it. Life is short. I for one am going out beat to hell and on two wheels!!
